Give your child the opportunity to learn Italian in a fun, engaging, and structured environment. Italian School NJ offers Italian classes for children ages 3 and up, available online and in person at our East Hanover location, 49 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.
Our programs are designed to support children at every stage of learning, with options including group classes, private instruction, tutoring, and family lessons. Through play-based activities, interaction, and guided instruction, students build confidence while developing strong Italian language skills.

Our programs are designed to support children at every stage of learning, with options including group classes, private instruction, tutoring, and family lessons. Many ongoing classes are available and can be joined with the teacher’s approval.
Please note that placement in any class other than a New Beginner class must be approved by our administration through testing. New classes can start anytime we have a minimum of four students signed up for the same class.
Italian School NJ offers many class options for children ages 3 and up, including 2-hour Saturday in-person classes, 1.5-hour weekday in-person sessions, 1-hour online classes, and private or family lessons.
Students are grouped by age and school grade and can attend one of three learning levels:

Pre-K Students: Cuccioli (Ages 3–5, Pre-K)
Elementary School Students:
Coccinelle (Kindergarten)
Scoiattoli (1st–2nd Grade)
Farfalle (3rd–5th Grade)
Middle School Students: Fringuelli (6th–8th Grade)
High School Students: Giraffe (9th–12th Grade)

Our highly qualified instructors, including current and former high school and college teachers, provide support for Italian courses and AP Italian exam preparation. We can help with overall grades, test preparation, or difficult topics, offering a well-rounded approach to learning Italian.
For students interested in intensive AP prep, small group courses can be arranged to aim for a 4 or 5 on the exam.
Tuition for Individual Tutoring:
$90 — 1-hour session

Italian School has excellent teachers available, currently or formerly teaching at public/private high schools and local colleges.
Private tutoring is available anytime, including semi-private and family lessons.
